Dominica & Martinique
J
uly 2010

We spent a quiet night in Rouseau, Dominica after a long day of sailing from Guadeloupe.  Another 12 hours to Fort de France, Martinique - the wind came from every direction at some point during the day... the "great" weather window turned into:

Isolated Showers along Windward and Leeward Islands Thu15-Sat17 with localized Stronger Squalls 20-25kts near Martinique/Dominica in the afternoon.

Of course, the two islands that we're on course to pass over the next two days are the ONLY two in the Windwards & Leewards to have strong squalls.   Such is life - both islands are stunningly beautiful, even in the rain.  And, we didn't have to do a deck wash to get the salt off.
