Carnival in
Grenada
August
2010
For the
third time we arrived in a new island hours before they celebrated
J'ouvert for Carnival. The island shuts down (COMPLETELY) for 3 days
to a week. Music blasts from trucks stacked with speakers, mas bands
slowly make their way down the streets at all hours, locals and visitors
squirt paint and used motor oil on everyone in sight, alcohol runs freely,
and every afternoon there is a parade with elaborate costumes. Blue Runner
had a front row view for everything at the marina on the waterfront.
