St. Barthelemy (St. Barts) Sailing uphill again - 15 miles to St. Barts. We were able to hold a reefed main and motor-sail for a comfortable, and entertaining, ride. Our first stop was a small uninhabited island called Ile Fourchue. The snorkeling was good and it was a nice break from the uphill sail to the main island. Later in the afternoon, we arrived in Anse de Colombier on the North side of St. Barts. It's a national park, beautiful beach and only accessable by boat. Anne got up at 5:30am with the sun and went snorkeling right away. It seems all the creatures are also up early in the anchorage. Remoras, eagle rays, sharks and turtles all in one trip through the sand - impressive! Diving off rocks into the ocean is irresistible. Watch out for shallow coral & sea urchins. The only problem is how to get back out once you jump in? We should think of that first before taking the plunge.
